An asset management firm in Seattle is hiring a corporate Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to join their accounting team. The role will take ownership of reviewing financial statements, reconciling all entities accounting, be involved with budgeting & forecasting, and manage/mentor junior team members. Role requires strong GAAP experience with a background working in an asset management firm from a corporate accounting perspective as well as knowledge of fund accounting.
An established, growing asset manager is seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to oversee corporate accounting & finance operations (including some fund accounting) and support expanding business initiatives. This role is ideal for a technically strong accountant with solid GAAP expertise, exposure to fund accounting, and the ambition to grow into broader finance responsibilities over time.
The position will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, assist with budgeting and forecasting, managing a team, and supporting future audit readiness as the organization acquires new ventures.
Office Structure: Hybrid (4 days in office)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee corporate accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Ensure all accounts are accurately reconciled and reviewed on a timely basis
- Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Support forecasting and budgeting processes
- Assist with consolidations across entities and investments
- Review fund accounting activity and liaise with internal and external stakeholders as needed
- Maintain and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation
- Support audit readiness for future ventures (corporate financials currently unaudited)
- Utilize and help optimize accounting systems (currently Sage)
- Partner with leadership on financial analysis with the opportunity to grow into finance-focused responsibilities
- Manage or mentor junior accounting staff as the team scales
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong GAAP knowledge required
- CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
- Experience in corporate accounting within an investment firm; exposure to fund accounting highly desirable
- Consolidation experience required
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Prior experience managing or mentoring a team is a plus
- Startup or high-growth environment experience a plus
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, evolving environment
