Job Opportunity: Underwriter – Property – Excess & Surplus
Our client, a distinguished firm in the Insurance industry, is seeking a seasoned professional to join their dynamic Underwriting department. This permanent position is based within their dedicated Property – Excess & Surplus team, focusing on US Domestic coverage ranging from small to large accounts.
Role & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and make decisions on property insurance submissions, focusing primarily on the first layer and excess layers.
- Analyze risk factors and determine terms and conditions for coverage.
- Negotiate terms and pricing with wholesale brokers to optimize deals.
- Review and utilize financial documentation and historical data to support underwriting decisions.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with brokers to ensure a robust pipeline and market presence.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and underwriting standards.
Key Skills
- Proven expertise as an Underwriter specifically within the Property domain of the Insurance industry.
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience interfacing with Wholesale Brokers.
- Demonstrable knowledge in Excess & Surplus (E&S) lines tailored for the US Domestic Mid-Market sector.
- Ability to analyze complex data and financial documentation to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills to effectively manage broker relationships.
