This senior leadership role oversees compliance strategy and execution for health insurance marketing and distribution activities within a complex, multi channel environment. The Senior Director, Compliance is accountable for building and maintaining a strong compliance framework aligned with CMS marketing rules, carrier expectations, and internal governance standards. The role partners closely with executive leadership and business stakeholders to proactively manage regulatory risk while enabling compliant growth across health insurance sales and marketing functions.

The Senior Director, Compliance serves as a central compliance authority for health insurance marketing and sales activities, providing leadership, guidance, and oversight across distribution channels and affiliate partners.

Responsibilities include interpreting CMS guidance and carrier requirements, translating regulatory expectations into practical policies, controls, and review processes, and ensuring those standards are consistently applied across marketing and advertising initiatives. The role oversees the end to end review and approval of sales and marketing materials, including digital content, lead generation materials, presentations, and other consumer facing communications.

This position plays a key role in identifying potential compliance risks tied to marketing practices, supporting issue resolution, and implementing corrective actions when needed. The Senior Director leads efforts to educate internal teams and partners through targeted training, regulatory updates, and ongoing advisory support.

The role also leverages reporting and analytics to monitor compliance trends, assess emerging risks, and provide insight to senior leadership. In addition, the Senior Director manages the rollout and adoption of marketing review systems and leads a team of compliance professionals responsible for supporting high volume material review and oversight functions.

Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive compliance experience, ideally within health insurance or a closely related regulated environment

  • Deep understanding of CMS marketing and sales regulations and how they apply to advertising and distribution practices

  • Proven ability to convert regulatory requirements into scalable compliance processes and controls

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and business partners

  • Experience designing and delivering compliance training and guidance for sales and marketing teams

  • Analytical and risk focused approach to identifying and addressing compliance issues

  • Demonstrated success partnering cross functionally with legal, marketing, sales, operations, and analytics teams

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, regulated environment

  • People leadership experience managing and developing compliance teams handling high volumes of work

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis
