Oliver James have recently partnered with a highly successful global alternative asset manager as they seek to hire a Senior Investment Accountant to oversee the end-to-end investment life cycle of the real estate assets a cross their $26b AUM real estate platform.
The role based in Manhattan will see the Senior Investment Accountant be responsible for a wide variety of duties including fund reporting, reviewing property financials and forecasts, supporting acquisitions and dispositions, tracking deal performance, financial reporting, process improvements etc.
Our client is ideally seeking an ambitious professional with 5-7 years of experience of real estate accounting experience from within either public accounting or the private sector (they would strongly consider professionals from a Fund Accounting, Property Accounting, Investment Accounting and Audit background).

Responsibilities:
- Review property financials and perform quarterly forecasts, as well as carry out review of disposition gains/losses, waterfall calculations and promote allocations.
- Execute and oversee detailed investment-level processes related to acquisitions, management and disposition of real estate assets;
- Analyse and interpret large volumes of property, financial and operational data to support fund reporting and business decisions.
- Track deal performance and collaborate with the deal teams and asset management to support execution of business plans
- Ad-hoc projects and streamline processes across reporting, data management and operational workflows as required.
- Overseeing and mentoring a team of fund administrators
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience within the real estate/private equity/asset management sector.
- Public Accounting and/or Private Sector experience (Asset/Investment Management).
- Understanding of fund accounting, valuations and financial reporting.
- Strong desire to work within the real estate sector.
- CPA qualification is desired.
