Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic initiatives within a global financial services organization. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role will be responsible for managing complex, cross-functional projects that support regulatory compliance, operational risk management, and governance enhancements.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who is currently working for Big 4 or Accenture.
The role will oversee 2-3 projects within the Risk and Compliance portfolio. While the exact projects are to be confirmed, the current pipeline includes:
- Migration, centralization, and outsourcing of AML services across multiple business units.
- Enhancements to an enterprise governance, risk, and compliance (eGRC) system, focusing on improving regulatory compliance and risk management functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and strategic priorities.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage and manage senior stakeholders across multiple business units, compliance, legal, IT, and external partners.
- Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, manage budgets, resources, timelines, and ensure successful delivery within scope.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring proactive resolution and escalation where necessary.
- Governance & Reporting: Maintain robust project governance, produce regular status reports, and present updates to steering committees and executive leadership.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior project managers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of project management experience, preferably within financial services.
- Proven track record in delivering business projects (not technology, engineering, or construction). Experience in Risk, Compliance, or Regulatory projects is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Personality and cultural fit are as important as experience.
- Experience working in a regional or global matrix environment is a strong advantage.
