Solution Architect (Java) – Insurance systems – Zurich
Contract role – 2 days a week on site!
We’re supporting a large insurance programme in Switzerland and are looking for an experienced Solution Architect (Java) to join a global claims transformation initiative.
This is a senior, hands-on role with real ownership – shaping how global claims components are implemented and adapted locally, while guiding distributed development teams.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the design and development of ABS Claims solutions (strong focus on Claims File)
- Analysing and implementing components within the Swiss claims landscape
- Defining local architecture and required enhancements
- Guiding and supporting developers across multiple locations
- Ensuring high code quality through reviews, testing, and best practice
- Working closely with stakeholders to align global standards with local needs
Ideal Background / Experience
- Strong experience as a Senior / Lead Solution Architect
- Solid Java background (Java 12+), Spring / Spring Boot
- Experience with OSGi / Eclipse Plug-ins
- Comfortable working in international, distributed teams
- Confident leading technically and pushing delivery forward
Nice to have
- Claims domain knowledge (Motor / Claims processes)
- ABS Business Layer or Core Plug-in experience
- Camunda
- Azure / cloud exposure
