VP, Finance & Capital Management
Oliver James is seeking a strategic, high-impact finance leader to oversee enterprise performance, capital strategy, and operational finance across the organization. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned professional, with a strong insurance background to shape financial outcomes, influence executive decisions, and partner directly with the CFO and senior leadership.
What you’ll do:
This role is central to driving operational strategy and sustainable growth. You will:

Optimize profitability across products, lines of business, and operations through strategic cost management, operational efficiency initiatives, and ROI-driven decision-making.

Lead enterprise-wide capital strategy, including capital allocation, stress testing, ORSA planning, and solvency monitoring to support growth while maintaining rating stability.

Collaborate with P&L owners, actuarial teams, and operations leaders to assess investments, evaluate financial risk, and build pro-forma models that guide critical business decisions.

Drive data storytelling and executive communication, translating complex financial results into actionable insights for the CEO, Board, and rating agencies.

Implement AI-enabled planning tools, cloud-based EPM platforms, and advanced visualization solutions to modernize forecasting, scenario modeling, and strategic planning.
Who we’re looking for:

10+ years of senior finance experience across insurance corporate finance, finance strategy, treasury, capital management, and/or corporate development.

Deep expertise in financial modeling, scenario planning, capital adequacy analysis, and rating agency engagement.

Proven track record of partnering with business leaders to drive measurable operational improvements and optimize financial performance.

Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.

Hands-on experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders with no ego, only results.

Insurance industry experience is mandatory – candidates should understand operational, regulatory, and capital dynamics in life, P&C, health or multi-line insurance organizations.
- Professional credential: CPA or CFA prefered.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office; local candidates preferred)

Compensation: $200,000 -250,000 base + bonus. 6% 401k match, comprehensive benefits
