VP Quantitative Developer

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $200,000 – $250,000 + Bonus

A fast-moving trading and technology team is looking to hire a Quantitative Developer to help design, build, and optimize low-latency trading systems in a highly electronic market environment.

This role sits close to the trading desk and will partner directly with traders, quants, and engineers to implement and improve automated trading strategies, execution logic, and real-time market data systems. It’s a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working on performance-sensitive systems and wants direct exposure to live trading and strategy implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance trading systems in a low-latency environment
  • Partner with traders and quantitative teams to translate strategy logic into scalable production code
  • Build and enhance infrastructure supporting algorithmic trading, pricing, quoting, and execution workflows
  • Improve system performance, resiliency, and throughput across real-time trading applications
  • Integrate and process high-volume market data and external venue connectivity
  • Support live trading environments through monitoring, troubleshooting, and production enhancements
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of development tooling, engineering standards, and deployment practices
  • Work on strategy implementation across electronic and automated trading workflows

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on development experience in Java, Python, Rust, OR C++
  • Experience working in an algorithmic trading, electronic trading, or quantitative development environment
  • Background building or supporting low-latency / high-performance trading systems
  • Familiarity with real-time market data, tick data, and event-driven systems
  • Experience implementing or supporting quantitative models, trading logic, or automated execution workflows
  • Understanding of how trading strategies move from research or desk logic into production systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with both technical and front-office stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience on an FX, crypto, or broader electronic trading desk
  • Exposure to market making, pricing engines, or quoting systems
  • Familiarity with cloud or hybrid deployment environments
  • Experience with production support, DevOps, or real-time system observability
  • Understanding of modern market structure and exchange / venue connectivity
