Financial Service Sector Leads UK Job Market Growth

15 January 2016

The professional services job market is booming, according to new data from the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo).

The research published shows that jobs in the finance, IT and engineering sectors has risen by 10 per cent, 14 per cent and 12 per cent year-on-year respectively, in line with David Cameron’s view that Britain will soon become ‘the job’s factory of Europe’.

Financial growth is put down to increased economic confidence and greater investment opportunities showing that the UK has certainly regained its crown as one of the most distinguished international financial centres. The rapid growth of the IT sector, which APSCo has reported in recent months, is thought to be due to companies investing in key talent to rival competitors as a result of advancing technologies.

APSCo Chief Executive Ann Swain said the figures were a reflection of “greater market stability and confidence in hiring”.
