Lorenzo, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
I’ve been working in the talent solutions industry for 7 years, providing career advice and hiring support to job seekers and businesses across Spain. Originally from Amsterdam, I’ve been specialising in the technology talent market since 2017, joining Oliver James in 2021 to lead their expansion into Spain.
What made OJ Madrid attractive to you?
Our expansion into Madrid provided the opportunity to build something from the ground up here, with the added support of our already well-established international network and long-standing partnerships across the globe.
I also love the culture here in Spain, Madrid in particular is a beautiful city, with a wealth of opportunities available to further expand our team and the markets we operate in. Not only does OJ Madrid provide opportunities for those looking to start or further their career in recruitment, but will also provide further opportunities to job seekers and businesses looking to hire within the technology market across Madrid, Barcelona, and Malaga.
As the Director of OJ Madrid, what are you responsible for?
I’m responsible for providing support and guidance to our growing team, ensuring everyone has the tools they need to achieve success, putting them on track to reach their own individual career goals. I also look to continually improve the service we’re providing and the relationships we’re building with job seekers and businesses within Madrid, whilst consistently growing our current network.
Which markets do you serve?
We offer contract and permanent solutions across a wide range of specialisms within the technology market, including platforms, applications, data, network and infrastructure, and cyber security.
What types of businesses do you work with?
We provide talent solutions to businesses within any industry that are looking to hire technology professionals, from start-ups to large multinational businesses. Our international presence also means we have long-standing partnerships with global businesses which we have built up over our 20-year history of operating in the talent solutions industry.
What can the Madrid market expect from the team at OJ?
Job seekers and businesses in Madrid can expect to form long-term partnerships with our team, not just a transactional, one-time solution. Where do you see the Madrid market in 5-10 years’ time?
I believe Madrid will continue to attract multinational businesses and technology professionals to the city as an up and coming technology hub within Europe. As a result of this, I see the technology talent market continuing to grow, providing more opportunities to job seekers and more technology talent to businesses within Madrid.
OJ Madrid also has a focus on becoming a market leader in the IT talent market, as we can continue to grow the team and increase our offering into new service lines and disciplines in the future.
What are you most looking forward to?
The journey of growth that the team and I will go through as we learn, develop, and continue to provide high-quality talent solutions to the Madrid hiring market. I’m also looking forward to meeting the new team members that will join us along the way and watching our team expand and advance their careers.
I think seeing how our network will continue to extend as we make further connections within the Madrid market, as well as the partnerships we will strengthen over the coming years, are both really exciting when looking to the future of OJ Madrid.
