Caroline, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
I am the Director of engineering for Oliver James and have worked in the recruitment industry for the last 8 years. I specialise in the engineering sector and cover the Oil and Gas, Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and Construction sectors. I have lived in Antwerp all my life and I am really excited to open Oliver James’ latest location in Belgium in my hometown.
What made Oliver James Antwerp attractive to you?
As the central hub for engineering, Antwerp is home to some of the most established companies in the world and marks the perfect location for Oliver James’ first engineering division. Oliver James have already developed a well-established presence in the Belgium market and I am looking forward to building on the long-standing relationships and taking the engineering division forward, supporting both our existing and future client and candidate base.
As the Director of the Antwerp office, what will you be responsible for?
I am responsible for implementing the strategy to drive the business forward, whilst also growing and developing the team, ensuring best practice and a high quality service is consistently delivered.
What are your plans for Antwerp?
The opportunities in Antwerp are extensive and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in terms of the support we offer to businesses and job seekers, but also for the opportunities we will create for the people working at Oliver James. Over the next few years, we will focus on building the foundations of Oliver James Antwerp, growing a team of experienced and talented individuals with a main focus on the Electrical and Instrumentation / Automation market. In the long term, we hope to have at team of 15 by 2023 and have big plans to make Oliver James a market leader and expand into further markets with dedicated teams.
