Actuarial Associate
Fully Remote Role, offices in CA, NYC and more

About the Company:

One of the largest insurance brokerages in the country with over 15,000 employees, but it still operates with the mindset and values of the family that started it. Even as they’ve grown, they’ve kept a culture built on trust, flexibility, and treating people like people, not headcount.

They’re fully remote-friendly, with offices in California, New York, and many other locations for anyone who prefers an in-office or hybrid setup. Teams have a lot of freedom in how they work, and leadership is genuinely open to new ideas, innovation, and better ways of doing things. The core values haven’t changed, but the door is always open for fresh thinking. If someone wants the stability of a major organization without the rigidity and a place where they can do meaningful work, have real flexibility, and be part of a company that still feels grounded and human then Alliant hits that balance really well.

The Role

Their actuarial team is a small, mighty group inside one of the biggest brokerages in the country, and they’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the technical side of P&C. This role is perfect for someone who likes building things, coding in Python, experimenting with new ideas, and working on commercial lines in a non-traditional way.

They don’t care how you get the work done; they care that you deliver smart, clean, thoughtful solutions. There are no rigid methodologies, no “this is how we’ve always done it,” and no KPI-driven handcuffs. If you have a wild R&D idea, they’ll actually listen and see if they can run with it.

You’ll get the freedom to go deep technically, but you’re also supported if you want to keep taking exams or explore pricing, reserving, or other actuarial paths. It’s a great fit for someone with 2-6 years of experience who knows they love the technical side of insurance or wants to develop that muscle further.

The team itself is incredibly capable and genuinely supportive – when someone has an exam, a personal situation, or a heavy week, everyone steps up. You’ll work directly under a leader with 15+ years of experience at major industry names who loves mentoring and helping people grow. If you want a role where you can build, experiment, code, and actually shape your work this is the place.
