Oliver James have recently partnered with a market-leading, global alternative asset manager as they seek to hire a Financial Controller to oversee financial reporting and management company accounting across their fully integrated platform of legal entities.
The role based in Manhattan will see the Controller be responsible for entity and management company level accounting, including closing processes, variance analysis, strategic investments, revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliations, regulatory reporting and much more.
Our esteemed client is ideally seeking a CPA qualified professional with 5-8 years of experience across a mix of public and private sectors, and they offering a competitive salary & bonus package worth up to $220,000, hybrid working, excellent healthcare benefits, a clear route for progression and much more.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing detailed management company accounting functions including balance sheet reconciliations, income statements and variance analysis from a monthly, quarterly and annual perspective.
- Providing accounting advisory support across management companies regarding entity transactions and balances, including carried interest, management fees, equity method investments.
- Managing and coordinating on the GAAP and non-GAAP reporting requirements related to ACS revenue recognition.
- Assisting with quarterly internal and external reporting, whilst maintaining a strong SOX controls environment.
- Working closely with the Deals, Senior Management and Accounting Policy teams to ensure proper reporting and accounting across strategic investments.
- Preparing ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested by the Senior Management team.
Requirements:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
- Mix of Big 4 public accounting and private sector experience
- Expertise within the Asset Management space
- CPA qualification
- Strong financial reporting & US GAAP background
- Exposure to strategic investments (preferred)
