Job Description: As the Manager of Accounting and Policy, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the accounting and policy operations within our client's organization. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing strategic guidance to optimize financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency in accounting and policy operations.
• Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure adherence to best practices and compliance with accounting standards.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, regulators, and stakeholders, representing the organization's financial interests with professionalism and integrity.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and software tools to enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles within the insurance industry, with a focus on life and health insurance.
• Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles, policies, and regulations, including GAAP and statutory accounting standards.
• Proven track record of leadership and managerial experience, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and accounting software applications.
