Based in Richmond, Virginia, USA, we are looking for a seasoned Product Manager with experience in the Excess & Surplus (E&S) markets to serve as the primary line of communication between IT and business stakeholders to align on the product vision and strategies with high-quality and innovative software solutions.

What you will do

  • Oversee and drive product development efforts including oversight of product roadmap, and coordination of design and development partners
  • Develop, launch and optimize digital products and applications via Agile teams
  • Drive product direction with a customer centric mindset, creating value added differentiation and growth through rich customer journeys and experiences
  • Maintain and grow a deep knowledge of insurance products, business workflows, processes, needs and constraints
  • Partner with senior management and stakeholders to set the product vision and strategy
  • Act as a customer liaison between business units and the engineering teams
  • Provide clear update and reports to applicable stakeholders at a set cadence
  • Ensure that the product delivered meets user expectations and requirements through testing and post-implementation support
  • Balance customer needs while maintaining technical integrity
  • Create clear and compelling communications and presentations

What you require for the role

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a Product Manager role in an agile environment within financial services (Insurtech / E&S experience a plus)
  • Proven ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovation, totally comfortable operating in ambiguous and unregimented environments
  • Proven track record of taking an idea to market: synthesizing disparate views/insights/data, creating a cohesive narrative, plan and outcome
  • Proficient understanding of the technologies behind the product, awareness of market trend, digital innovation and competitor landscape, SAAS / PAAS frameworks
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively liaise with staff at varying levels across all business units to partner/communicate and collaborate business solutions
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actions
