We’re working with a leading global alternative asset manager ($600B+ AUM) in New York that operates across private equity, credit, real assets, and insurance solutions. They’re looking to add a Principal to their Asset-Based Finance team as they continue to build out an integrated, high-profile credit investment platform.
This is a senior investing role with broad ownership across the full investment lifecycle – from origination and underwriting through portfolio construction and active management, spanning a wide range of asset classes and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and execute investments across RMBS, CMBS, ABS, CLOs, whole loans, direct lending, and platform investments
- Monitor structured products markets and track relative value across liquid and illiquid sectors
- Develop and communicate portfolio construction and asset allocation strategy
- Design portfolio rotation trades to support financial targets and manage existing positions
- Build and maintain relationships internally and externally to support platform growth
- Collaborate with senior investment teams across the broader organization on deal execution and portfolio management
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in investment banking, insurance, or investment/asset management
- Deep knowledge of structured credit and asset-based finance across the risk/return spectrum
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills
- Experience leading and negotiating transactions
- Experience investing from an insurance general account
- Knowledge of insurance company investment is a plus
