Financial Controller – Life Insurance

Oliver James have been engaged to embark on the search for a Financial Controller. This role will play a key part in building out the finance and reporting infrastructure within a rapidly scaling insurance and reinsurance platform.

The client operates in the life insurance, reinsurance, and alternative asset management industry. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth, institutionally backed platform at an early stage, offering direct exposure to large-scale transactions, senior leadership, and the build-out of a multi-entity global finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial reporting across a number of entities
  • Build and enhance consolidated reporting processes
  • Oversee quarterly closes and preparation of financial statements,
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Establish and implement internal controls
  • Manage relationships third-party service providers
  • Partner cross-functionally with other departments
  • Support transaction activity
  • Develop and improve accounting systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • ~10+ years of experience across insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP OR Statutory accounting
  • Experience within the life insurance industry
