Our client is an international Insurance Group focusing on Life Insurance, Health & Wellness, Wealth Management & HNW businesses. With increasing business activities and a solid growth strategy in place in Asia, the Group is now seeking a high-calibre Strategy professional to Lead the firm-wide Strategy & Transformation function for the Hong Kong business.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Leader of a firm-wide Strategy & Transformation function for the Hong Kong business, designing and developing corporate and business growth strategies and development plans for Hong Kong, Macau as well as GBA initiatives.
- Lead the formulation of growth strategies and related initiatives, including market expansion, distribution, partnerships and product and customer segment development, while proactively identifying and assessing new growth opportunities aligned with the group’s strategic objectives.
- Recommend and build business case on strategic initiatives, articulate and translate ideas into execution priorities, action plans and transformation programmes.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of strategic initiatives, establishing and maintaining robust governance, frameworks and processes to enable effective and timely decision-making.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership and initiative owners, challenging assumptions and ensuring projects are underpinned by strong rationale and clearly defined value drivers
- Drive prioritization of the strategic project portfolio by evaluating assumptions, timelines, and expected impact against the overall strategy
- Communicate market insights effectively to the management and business leaders by evaluating industry trends, conducting market research and benchmarking, analyzing the competitive landscape and the impact to the business.
- Partner with and assist the Regional Strategy and Corporate Development teams in identifying, sourcing, screening potential acquisition targets and partnership opportunities that align with the group’s strategic goals in Hong Kong.
- Develop and deliver presentations to the management, support in strategic planning deliverables and timelines for management committees and leadership teams at Regional and Group level.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- An university degree preferably with an MBA or Master degree.
- Minimum 15+ years experience in Corporate Strategy, Business Strategy, Strategy Consulting gained from Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Bancassurance, Wealth Management, HNW or Consumer Banking sectors
- Experience from top-tier Strategy Consulting firms, ideally coupled with in-house strategy or line / business roles
- Hong Kong and / or China (MCV) markets experience
- A track record in building, leading and delivering strategic initiatives with proven ability to lead a team and run multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in conducting in-depth research, financial analysis and financial modelling
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in English, Cantonese and / or Mandarin
