- Seeking a Team Head & a Senior Team Member
Our client is a prominent global financial institution with businesses in investment banking, capital markets and markets trading and clearing. With a strategic focus on expanding its footprint in Hong Kong and Mainland China, the firm is seeking Operations Professional to join the team in Hong Kong in the Clearing Operations function.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Lead the team or be a key team member in a specialised function driving access governance, solution delivery, and operational enablement for business-critical clearing and post-trade platforms
- Take ownership of, or significantly contribute to, the design and enhancement of access management frameworks, ensuring strong controls, regulatory alignment, and security resilience
- Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders across technology, operations, business, and risk to deliver impactful initiatives and navigate complex cross-functional dependencies
- Drive or support high-profile / cross-divisions change programmes, including system transformation, process optimisation, and infrastructure enhancement initiatives
- Oversee or contribute to the effective delivery of clearing-related activities across multiple product classes (including exchange-traded and OTC products), ensuring stability, scalability, and service excellence
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, and operational resilience within a fast-evolving environment
- Strengthen governance, controls, and workflows by critically assessing existing processes and embedding best practices aligned with risk and compliance expectations
- Support the successful rollout of strategic initiatives such as new product introductions, regulatory changes, and market-driven developments
- Take ownership of, or actively support, incident and issue management, including root cause analysis and sustainable remediation actions
- Provide leadership or mentorship as appropriate, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture with a strong focus on accountability and continuous improvement
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- An University degree with minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in Operations or Middle Office gained from investment banks, securities brokerages and / or clearing houses
- Candidates with min. 3 years of managerial experience will be considered at Team Head level.
- Hands-on experience in post-trade operations, clearing operations, system access governance, and / or operations control
- Transformation / Change Project Management experience in cross-divisional projects, operations, trading infrastructure or clearing operations
- Good understanding in governance, operational risk, internal control
- Broad products knowledge in equities, exchange-traded and OTC products
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
