Director, FP&A

A growing and well-capitalized Life & Annuities insurance organization is seeking a Director of FP&A to join its finance leadership team. This individual will play a critical role supporting enterprise financial planning, forecasting, capital analysis, and strategic decision-making across a complex insurance platform with multiple operating entities and retirement-focused products.

This position offers strong exposure to executive leadership and will partner closely with Accounting, Actuarial, Investments, Reinsurance, and Operations to drive financial performance, planning accuracy, and long-term strategic initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across insurance operations
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights around profitability, capital utilization, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Support analysis of key insurance metrics including spread income, reserves, capital ratios, investment performance, and product profitability
  • Develop and enhance executive reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and board-level financial materials
  • Work closely with Actuarial and Investments teams on forecasting assumptions, asset/liability considerations, and earnings projections
  • Analyze financial results and drivers across Life & Annuity product lines and operating entities
  • Support enterprise capital planning and strategic finance initiatives
  • Drive FP&A process improvement efforts, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements
  • Lead and mentor members of the FP&A team while helping build scalable finance processes

What they’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance experience
  • Strong insurance industry experience required, ideally within Life Insurance and/or Annuities
  • Deep understanding of insurance financial drivers, forecasting methodologies, and capital management concepts
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and presenting financial insights to senior stakeholders
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skillset
  • Prior experience within a complex, multi-entity insurance environment preferred
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus
