About the Role
As a Data Governance Consultant, you help organizations establish control, ownership, and accountability over their data assets. You design frameworks, policies, and standards that ensure data is managed effectively across the organization. You combine your background in computer science with strong business acumen to bridge the gap between IT and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data governance frameworks and operating models
- Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability structures
- Develop and maintain data policies, standards, and guidelines
- Set up metadata management and data cataloging practices
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR)
- Advise stakeholders on data governance strategy and best practices
- Collaborate with IT, data teams, and business units
- Support organizational change towards data-driven governance
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, and databases
- Experience with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK is a plus)
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to translate strategy into practical implementation
