About the Role

An established organisation is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its Release and Environment Management function. This role is focused on operating, maintaining, and evolving integration and application platforms across both non-production and production environments.

You will play a key role in ensuring stable environments, smooth deployments, strong automation practices, and continuous platform improvement. The position contributes directly to enhancing delivery pipelines and ensuring platforms operate efficiently, securely, and reliably.

You will work closely with development, QA, operations, and architecture teams to streamline processes, increase automation, and advance DevOps maturity. Experience working within a regulated or governed environment is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support a large enterprise integration platform and associated API gateway components
  • Manage build, release processes, and environment configuration across multiple landscapes
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with development and QA teams
  • Provide operational platform support including:
    • Monitoring and performance tuning
    • Upgrades, patching, and security management
    • Access controls and clustering
    • Incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement across release and environment practices
  • Support occasional out-of-hours releases or critical incidents

Skills & Experience

Essential Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in DevOps, SRE, or Release Engineering roles
  • Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL or similar)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud environments
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling such as Git, Bash, Python, Ansible, Jira, Bitbucket, Datadog
  • Experience supporting applications across Linux and Windows environments
  • Understanding of APIs, REST/SOAP services, and messaging concepts
