QA Analyst (Manual Testing)

Overview

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, technology-focused organization in the insurance space that is rethinking how modern platforms are built and delivered. This team emphasizes data-driven solutions, strong engineering practices, and a collaborative, high-accountability culture.

They are seeking a QA Engineer with strong experience in API and functional testing to help ensure the quality and reliability of critical business applications. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, and business functions to validate both front-end and backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to understand functional and technical requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
  • Design, document, and execute test cases across functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Perform hands-on API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI to validate endpoints, data integrity, and request/response behavior.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA, ensuring clear reproduction steps and timely resolution with development teams.
  • Work closely with developers, product teams, and QA peers (including offshore teams) to support high-quality releases.
  • Execute regression testing and validate business-critical data, ensuring system accuracy and stability across releases.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing by providing test results, tracking issues, and supporting business stakeholders during validation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, results, and defects to support traceability and audit requirements.
  • Validate complex business workflows and calculations within financial product systems, including policy processing, servicing, and claims-related functionality.
  • Partner with automation engineers to identify opportunities for API test automation and contribute to reusable test coverage.

Qualifications

  • Experience in QA (manual testing)
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)
  • Strong understanding of test case design, defect tracking, and QA processes
  • Experience working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing financial services or insurance-related applications
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks or scripting
  • Experience with data validation and complex business logic testing
