Senior Actuary

Senior Actuary – High‑Impact Role in a Modern P&C Environment – Relocation or Remote

We’re hiring a Senior Actuary to join a growing, analytically driven P&C program organization operating nationally. The actuarial team works across a diverse portfolio of commercial lines programs and partners closely with underwriting, finance, reinsurance, and senior leadership.

This role offers meaningful influence on pricing strategy, reserving integrity, and program performance. Candidates who prefer to focus more heavily on either pricing or reserving will have the flexibility to do so-while still contributing to broader actuarial objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Actuarial Modeling – Build and enhance pricing, reserving, and portfolio models; deliver insights that support strategic decisions.

  • Reserving & Reporting – Lead quarterly reserve analyses and support financial reporting accuracy.

  • Risk & Reinsurance – Support reinsurance reviews, program due diligence, and underwriting audits.

  • Pricing Strategy – Develop and refine pricing methodologies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.

  • Regulatory Support – Contribute to rate and form filings across multiple jurisdictions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in P&C actuarial work; open to senior candidates with 10+ years.

  • Background: Strong preference for commercial lines experience.

  • Credentials: One exam away from ACAS considered; ACAS/FCAS preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Python, R, SQL, SAS, or similar tools; strong modeling and analytical capabilities.

  • Core Strengths: Clear communication, critical thinking, and the ability to collaborate across functions.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Compensation: Highly negotiable and above typical Texas market ranges.

  • Relocation: Full relocation packages available for candidates interested in Austin.

  • Flexibility: Hybrid in Austin or fully remote for the right candidate.

  • Impact: Direct involvement in pricing, reserving, and program oversight across a diverse commercial lines portfolio.

  • Growth: Exposure to complex programs and senior decision‑makers.
