Role Overview
The organisation is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle delivery of networking and security solutions. This role involves taking ownership of projects from initial planning through to final deployment and customer sign-off, acting as the main liaison between the customer and delivery teams.
You will work closely with technical architects, engineers, and external partners to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard. In addition, the role includes contributing to the ongoing refinement of internal project management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, from initiation and planning through to implementation and integration
- Build detailed project plans in collaboration with stakeholders, including customers and internal teams
- Oversee project risks, timelines, budgets, resources, and scope changes
- Coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders to secure required resources and agree delivery timelines
- Lead and support project teams to achieve delivery milestones and quality targets
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment
- Support early-stage deployment and integration activities where required
- Identify potential opportunities for additional business through client engagement
Essential Experience & Skills
- 5+ years’ experience managing projects within IT or telecommunications environments
- Strong understanding of networking technologies, including IP infrastructure, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, VPNs, cloud networking, and data centre environments
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex, multi-stream projects under tight deadlines
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation capabilities
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Flexibility to travel and work across multiple sites as required
- Full, clean driving licence
Desirable Background
- Degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Experience with data centre deployments and enterprise-grade infrastructure
- Familiarity with detailed technical design documentation
- Experience managing external vendors and working alongside major telecom or service providers
- Exposure to early-stage solution deployment and integration work
