A key focus of this role is driving automation across the finance function. You’ll identify opportunities to streamline manual processes, improve reporting efficiency, and enhance data quality by designing and implementing automated workflows using Alteryx. Working closely with finance and cross-functional stakeholders, you’ll play a pivotal role in reducing manual effort, strengthening controls, and delivering scalable, efficient reporting solutions.
The ideal candidate will have gained their accounting experience within a Big Four accounting firm or a life insurance company, combining strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on experience in process automation. You’ll enjoy solving complex problems, challenging traditional ways of working, and using technology to build smarter, more efficient finance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Deliver accurate balance sheet reconciliations and support the month-end close process.
- Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated workflows using Alteryx to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual finance processes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Partner with finance, actuarial, and business stakeholders to improve reporting, controls, and operational effectiveness.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, including process standardisation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
Requirements:
- Previous accounting experience gained within a Big Four accounting firm or a life insurance company.
- Reinsurance experience would be a bonus
- Demonstrated experience using Alteryx to automate finance processes, reporting, and data preparation.
- A strong interest in finance transformation, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and reporting tools is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively across distributed teams.
