Director of Product – Infrastructure & Operations | Insurance (Remote)
We are partnering with a leading insurance organization undertaking a major transformation of its Infrastructure & Operations function.
As part of this journey, they are seeking a Director of Product to establish and lead Product Management across Infrastructure & Operations, shaping the vision, strategy, and operating model for a portfolio spanning Cloud, Data Centres, Networking, Employee Experience, DevOps, Service Management, and Platform Services.
This is a highly visible leadership role with significant executive sponsorship and the opportunity to build product maturity across a critical enterprise function.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional infrastructure leadership position.
The organization is evolving Infrastructure & Operations into a product-led function, creating clear ownership, customer-centric services, and measurable outcomes across technology capabilities used by thousands of employees and business stakeholders.
You will lead a team of Product Managers and Product Owners, define the operating model, establish product management best practices, and drive a transformation agenda that includes cloud modernization, FinOps, employee experience, and data centre strategy.
Key transformation initiatives include:
* Data centre exit strategy through 2028
* Development of a cloud operating model and FinOps capability
* Modernisation of Employee Experience and End User Services
* Evolution of a large-scale MSP partnership and operating model
* Establishment of consistent product frameworks, governance, and ways of working
Key Responsibilities
* Define and execute the Product strategy across Infrastructure & Operations
* Build and scale Product Management capabilities, standards, and operating models
* Lead and develop a team of Product Managers and Product Owners
* Establish product maturity frameworks, governance, and prioritisation processes
* Drive product roadmaps across cloud, infrastructure, employee experience, and platform services
* Partner with engineering, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders to align investment and delivery priorities
* Translate infrastructure capabilities into customer-focused, productised services
* Balance strategic transformation objectives with hands-on delivery leadership
What We’re Looking For
* Experience building and leading Product Management functions
* Strong background in Infrastructure, Cloud, Platform Engineering, or Technology Operations
* Experience implementing product frameworks, methodologies, and operating models
* Proven ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
* Experience leading transformation initiatives within complex enterprise environments
* Strong stakeholder management and executive influencing skills
* Ability to build credibility across product, engineering, and operations teams
Highly Relevant Experience
* Cloud platforms and operating models (AWS preferred)
