Associate Director / Director, Corporate Strategy (Insurance)

Our client is an international Financial Services Group focusing on Life Insurance, Asset Management, Pension and Health Insurance. With increasing business activities and a solid growth strategy in place in Asia, the Group is now seeking a high-calibre Corporate Strategy Consulting professional to join the Regional Strategy team covering the Asia region, based in Hong Kong (the position is open to overseas applicants willing to relocate to Hong Kong).

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Part of an experienced Regional Strategy team covering Asia region designing and developing corporate and business growth strategies and development plans at regional level across all the businesses in Asia.
  • Lead or assist in strategy formulation and initiatives related to growth strategies, new markets entry, distribution strategy, new customer segment development, partnerships, new and existing products development and entries.
  • Take a proactive role in identifying and assessing growth opportunities, new customer segment or product segment with the group’s strategic goals in the various markets.
  • Recommend and build business case on strategic initiatives, articulate and translate ideas into execution priorities, action plans and transformation programmes.
  • Communicate market insights effectively to the management and business leaders by evaluating industry trends, conducting market research and benchmarking, analyzing the competitive landscape and the impact to the business.
  • Partner with and assist the Corporate Development team in identifying, sourcing, screening potential acquisition targets and partnership opportunities that align with the group’s strategic goals in the various regions.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to the management, support in strategic planning deliverables and timelines for management committees and leadership teams at Regional and Group level.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • An university degree preferably with an MBA or Master degree.
  • Minimum 10+ years experience in Corporate Strategy, Business Strategy, Strategy Consulting gained from Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Bancassurance or Retail Wealth Management
  • Experience from top-tier Strategy Consulting firms focusing on Financial Services sector would also be considered
  • Asia markets experience is a MUST
  • A track record in building, leading and delivering strategic initiatives with proven ability to lead a team and run multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in conducting in-depth research, financial analysis and financial modelling
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English
