Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Claims Manager to lead a team handling complex Excess Casualty claims. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong claims professional with supervisory experience who enjoys mentoring others while remaining engaged in high-exposure casualty matters.
The Claims Manager will oversee a team of claims professionals handling complex and litigated excess casualty claims. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in excess casualty coverage, litigation management, and claim resolution, along with demonstrated experience leading, coaching, or supervising claim staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of Excess Casualty claims professionals.
- Provide technical guidance on complex, high-exposure, and litigated casualty claims.
- Review claim investigations, coverage analyses, reserving practices, and resolution strategies.
- Monitor claim performance and ensure adherence to best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
- Partner with defense counsel to develop and execute effective litigation strategies.
- Evaluate settlement opportunities and provide authority recommendations on significant exposures.
- Conduct file reviews and audits to ensure quality claim handling.
- Support employee development through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Collaborate with underwriting, legal, risk management, and senior leadership on complex claim matters.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental goals.
