Fund Accounting Manager, Pivate Markets
I’m partnering with an established fund administrator to appoint a Fund Accounting Manager supporting real estate and private equity clients.
You will oversee fund accounting and reporting, lead client delivery and develop teams across domestic and international locations. This opportunity suits an experienced accounting professional looking to combine technical ownership with team leadership and direct client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of NAV packages, ensuring accurate and timely client reporting.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Review financial statements and disclosures, supporting compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
- Coordinate accounting, operations, tax and investor services teams to deliver client requirements.
- Manage external audits and oversee the resolution of accounting queries.
- Review fund documentation and translate fund terms into accounting and reporting requirements.
- Lead the implementation of new fund structures within accounting systems.
- Coach and develop staff, maintaining consistent standards across teams.
- Review real estate accounting and operational processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support additional client reporting and projects as required.
Skills & Experience
- At least seven years of relevant real estate and/or private equity experience, including five years in public or private accounting.
- Strong knowledge of real estate and private equity fund accounting.
- Experience applying GAAP and IFRS and reviewing complete financial statements, including disclosures.
- Understanding of fair value reporting for real estate investments and debt obligations.
- Knowledge of multifamily and commercial real estate accounting.
- Proven supervisory experience, with the ability to coach and develop accounting professionals.
- Strong client communication, project management and organizational skills.
- Experience using systems such as Yardi, MRI or Investran.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
