We’ve partnered with a well-established Swiss institution in searching for an experienced infrastructure leader for a key management position within their infrastructure organisation.
This role will take ownership of the Compute, Virtualisation, and Storage environment, with a strong focus on leadership, operational excellence, and service strategy.
You will lead multiple infrastructure teams across server, virtualisation, and storage services, helping shape the future direction of the platform while ensuring stable and efficient operations. Acting as a key counterpart to senior infrastructure leadership, you will support strategic initiatives, service lifecycle management, and the continued evolution of the infrastructure organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop multiple infrastructure teams across:
- Compute / Server
- Virtualisation
- Storage Services
- Manage approximately 25-30 employees through 3-4 direct reports
- Oversee services including:
- Online Storage
- NAS
- Block Storage
- Tape Storage
- On-Prem Cloud Storage
- VDI infrastructure
- Support and help execute the infrastructure and storage strategy
- Take ownership of operational coordination and organisational topics within the department
- Ensure effective collaboration between infrastructure domains and stakeholders
- Support leadership in strategic planning and organisational scaling
Profile:
- Several years of leadership experience in infrastructure or datacenter environments
- Proven experience managing managers and larger technical organisations
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to lead through direct and indirect structures
- Good understanding of infrastructure technologies such as:
- Virtualisation (VMware, OpenStack)
- Compute / Server environments
- Enterprise Storage
- Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms
- Strong service management and operational governance mindset
- Experience supporting strategic initiatives and transformation programs
- Able to operate on both strategic and operational levels
- Architectural awareness is beneficial, but this is not an architect role
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent German and English are required
