Senior Counsel – Government & Regulatory Affairs (P&C Insurance)
Remote – California
Leading P&C insurer seeking an attorney to drive regulatory and legislative strategy in California. This is a business-facing, externally focused role working with regulators, policymakers, and internal leadership.
Key Focus:
- Handle and manage lobbying and advocacy efforts aligned with government affairs, business, and regulatory affairs strategy
- Directly engage and influence DOI, NAIC, NCOIL, legislators, and policymakers
- Develop and advance policy positions, legislative strategy, and external messaging
- Translate regulatory and legislative developments into actionable business guidance
- Partner cross-functionally with legal, compliance, and business teams to align advocacy with enterprise objectives
Profile:
- JD (CA Bar preferred)
- 8-15+ years in insurance regulatory, government affairs, or public policy
- Strong P&C regulatory knowledge and external engagement experience
Comp: $150K-$250K + benefits
Location: Remote (CA-based, some travel)
