IT Procurement and Vendor Manager – Contract

  • 12-Month Contract on Day rate
  • South of Dublin City Centre
  • Hybrid 2 days on site/ 3 days remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective suppliers.
  • Create and manage a procurement roadmap to ensure contract renewals are reviewed proactively, challenged where appropriate, and completed within required timelines while delivering value for money.
  • Lead regular supplier governance meetings, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to assess vendor performance, identify risks, and implement improvement plans where required.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues efficiently through effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • Evaluate the resilience and risk profile of critical suppliers in line with operational resilience and digital resilience requirements.
  • Support the preparation, monitoring, and management of the annual IT budget.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, governance standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain and enhance procurement contract registers, renewal trackers, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support outsourcing governance and vendor oversight activities.
  • Lead IT procurement and tender exercises in collaboration with procurement teams and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify suppliers offering the best combination of value, quality, and service delivery.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, software licence reviews, and assurance-related activities.
  • Support vendor management controls, risk assessments, and reporting requirements, including quarterly risk submissions and key risk metrics.
  • Act as the primary procurement contact for IT projects, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to procurement processes.
  • Deliver procurement activities and sourcing initiatives aligned with business objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Provide procurement expertise and support to project teams throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Produce accurate procurement reports and updates for stakeholders and project governance forums.
  • Participate in procurement review meetings, supplier evaluations, shortlisting exercises, and contract award discussions.
  • Support contract administration activities in partnership with procurement and legal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to procurement assurance planning and governance reviews as required.

Key requirements

Education and experience

  • Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Professional qualifications or certifications in procurement, sourcing, or procurement law would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and vendor management practices within Financial Services and/or IT environments.
  • Experience leading procurement initiatives, sourcing exercises, and tender processes across varying levels of complexity.
  • Proven track record in supplier management, contract negotiation, and commercial governance.
  • Experience working with IT service providers and technology procurement is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing methodologies, and tender management.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing contractual risk.
  • Ability to draft and review complex contract terms, framework agreements, and service agreements.
  • Demonstrated success in building effective supplier relationships that deliver measurable business value.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to provide accurate management information.
  • Good understanding of purchasing frameworks and sourcing options available within regulated environments.
  • Ability to develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and workflows.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
