IT Business Analyst – Insurance

We are partnering with a prominent insurance organisation to recruit an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join their dynamic team. This is a key role focused on driving the analysis, design, and implementation of life and health insurance product features within their core policy administration system and integrated surrounding platforms.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a critical bridging role between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that insurance product requirements are accurately translated into robust system solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on end-to-end product lifecycle initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze detailed business requirements related to the full product lifecycle management.
  • System Analysis: Analyze existing systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities and recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Develop comprehensive use cases, user stories, and functional specifications to effectively communicate requirements to development teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between business units and the offshore development team to ensure strong alignment on deliverable and timelines.
  • UAT Facilitation: Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, working with end-users to validate that delivered solutions meet business needs and quality standards.
  • Project Management Support: Assist with project planning, progress monitoring, risk management, and regular status reporting.
  • Offshore Team Management: Align with offshore teams on resource planning and actively contribute to upskilling their capabilities to meet the high standards of the Hong Kong team.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analysis, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with strong exposure to product development and policy administration systems in the insurance sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products (especially Life & Health), policy lifecycle management, rates setup, pricing, underwriting rules, policy servicing, and new business issuance.
  • Solid understanding of system development methodologies (Agile and Waterfall).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Fluency in Cantonese and English
