Accounting Manager – Life Insurance

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process for various accounting areas.
- Prepare and review GAAP and Statutory accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with statutory and GAAP financial reporting requirements.
- Partner with investment accounting, actuarial, treasury, FP&A, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Help establish and enhance accounting policies, internal controls, and operational processes as the organization continues to scale.
- Support external audits and regulatory examinations.
- Research accounting guidance and assist with technical accounting matters as needed.
- Mentor and develop members of the accounting team while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Participate in special projects, including process improvements, automation initiatives, and new product implementations.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience within the insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of Life & Annuity insurance accounting.
- Experience with both Statutory and GAAP reporting preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
