Our client, a prominent leader in the Insurance industry, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Legal Counsel specializing in Accident and Health (A&H) to join their robust legal department. This is a permanent position offering the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, driving legal strategies and solutions that contribute to the company’s business goals and regulatory compliance.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a business-facing insurance specialist embedded across A&H, Travel, Pet, Stop Loss, and other specialty lines.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on insurance regulatory matters, regulatory exposure, and regulator interactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and insurance agreements, including vendor, MGA/MGU, TPA, and delegated authority arrangements.
  • Advise on claims, product, and state regulatory matters, including benefit clarifications and claims communications.
  • Support product, advertising, consumer, and broader legal matters across the specialty insurance portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in good standing.
  • 3-5+ years of dedicated A&H, Travel, Pet, Stop Loss, and more specialty P&C insurance lines.
  • Wider P&C insurance experience within regulatory, claims, product, corporate insurance, etc. (Regulatory preferred)
