AVP, A&H Counsel – Travel Insurance [NYC Metro]
The attorney will serve as the primary legal advisor supporting this P&C insurance carrier’s A&H business, providing legal counsel on A&H insurance and reinsurance matters, stop loss products, contracts, litigation, claims management, and regulatory compliance. The role partners closely with business leaders to draft and negotiate commercial agreements, advise on complex insurance regulations (including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, No Surprises Act), manage legal risk, and support strategic business initiatives.
*MUST HAVE 2-3+ YEARS OF A&H TRAVEL INSURANCE-SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE*
Ideal Background:
- 7-10 years of legal experience
- 3+ years focused on A&H insurance
- Juris Doctor and admission and good standing with at least one U.S. Bar
- Strong experience with contracts, litigation, and claims management
- Knowledge of A&H insurance/reinsurance, stop loss, and employee benefits regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, NSA)
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and business partnering skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: ~$190,000 – $220,000 (TBD)
