On behalf of one of our leading clients based in Brussels, Oliver James is actively looking for a BI Analyst. This critical, cross-functional role sits at the heart of the company’s operational and decision-making performance. Acting as a true pivot between the development teams, quality assurance, and end-users, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, evolution, deployment, and analysis of complex proprietary software solutions.
This position offers a perfect balance between technical autonomy, business intelligence (BI) database management, and an engaging human interface role that encompasses functional analysis and comprehensive technical support.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a BI Analyst, your responsibilities will be spread across the following core technical and operational areas:
1. Database Exploitation & Business Intelligence (BI)

Administer and maintain SQL Server databases on a daily basis.

Use SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) at an advanced level for data analysis, investigation, and auditing.

Design, generate, deploy, and maintain business reports via SSRS (creating datasets, managing parameters) to drive business decisions.

Ensure the proper modeling, integrity, and performance optimization of SQL queries.
2. Functional Analysis & Application Configuration

Perform functional analysis of applications to precisely align internal tools with business needs.

Translate operational requirements into technical configurations and handle the parameterization of the company’s software solutions.

Study and master software flows, interfaces, and inter-application exchanges to optimize existing systems.

Write and maintain clear, structured, and standardized technical and functional documentation.
3. Support, Guidance & Interface

Provide global technical and functional support for both local and international projects.

Handle user requests (Hotline, ticketing) with excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating strong listening and pedagogical skills to guide users step-by-step.

Act as a key point of contact and a natural interface between the development team, software quality control, and operational teams.

Lead and deliver training sessions for users or technical teams to facilitate knowledge transfer.
4. Deployment & Systems Management

Take charge of the installation, configuration, and deployment of the company’s platforms and IT systems, both at Headquarters and on international client sites (occasional travel to be expected).

Ensure the daily operation and continuous improvement of Windows Server and Linux environments.

Utilise virtualisation techniques to manage software infrastructures.

Strictly adhere to internal procedures related to the Integrated Management System (IMS) (support, delivery, software quality control).
REQUIRED PROFILE
Education & Experience:

Higher education degree – Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in Computer Science (specialisation in networks, systems, databases, or functional analysis) or equivalent solid experience.

Proven experience in a similar role or within a critical, multi-application environment is a major asset.
Technical Skills (Hard Skills):

SQL / BI: Advanced expertise in databases (SQL, SSMS) and operational mastery of SSRS.

Systems: Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Linux environments, and virtualisation concepts.

Data Flows: Excellent understanding of software flows and application architectures.

Languages: Fluent/Excellent French (primary working language) and an intermediate level of English (essential for international projects).
