Seeking an experienced Controller to join our finance leadership team. This is a high-impact role for a finance professional who enjoys partnering with executive leadership, driving financial excellence, and helping shape the future direction of the organization.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will lead the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions, ensure the integrity of financial information, and play an integral role in strategic financial planning, regulatory compliance, and operational decision-making. The position offers significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to broaden leadership responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, and internal controls.

Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all statutory and regulatory financial reports.

Ensure compliance with NAIC statutory accounting principles (SAP) and applicable insurance regulations.

Manage the preparation of audited financial statements and coordinate external audits and regulatory examinations.

Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial planning, capital management, and strategic initiatives.

Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.

Lead and mentor the accounting team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decisions.

Drive process improvements through automation, standardization, and best practices.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.

10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, including experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.

Required: Property & Casualty insurance industry experience.

Required: Extensive experience with statutory accounting and statutory financial reporting (SAP), including regulatory filings.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.

Experience managing audits, regulatory examinations, and relationships with external auditors.

Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build, develop, and mentor high-performing teams.
