About the Role
You’ll join the Data and Infrastructure team at an associate level at an exciting stage of its development. The team is actively expanding its data platform, and this role will play a key part in maintaining and evolving our data pipelines while supporting wider infrastructure initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Own and maintain Python-based ETL pipelines and data workflows, working with existing code, keeping processes reliable and making improvements where appropriate.
- Develop Python scripts for data ingestion, transformation and automation, including working with REST APIs to connect systems and move data reliably.
- Investigate and resolve pipeline and data issues, taking ownership of troubleshooting and identifying practical solutions.
- Support integrations between internal and third-party systems, ensuring data moves accurately and consistently between platforms.
- Produce clear documentation that can be understood by both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Identify opportunities to automate business processes using tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps and n8n.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand business challenges and develop practical, data-driven solutions.
Key requirements
Experience
- 2+ years of practical Python experience in a professional, placement or project-focused environment. You should have written and maintained code that has been used in practice and be comfortable working within an existing codebase.
- A degree in computer science, data engineering, data science or a related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of Python, particularly for data manipulation, automation and scripting.
- Experience working with REST APIs, including consuming APIs, handling authentication and errors, and building integrations.
- Good working knowledge of SQL, including querying, validating and investigating data.
- Confidence reading and understanding unfamiliar or existing code, with the ability to work effectively within an established technology stack.
Nice to Have
- Cloud platforms, particularly Azure, or data warehouses such as Snowflake
- GitHub and version control best practices
- ETL tools and broader data pipeline design
- Power Automate, Power Apps or n8n
- ERP systems and/or systems integration
