Director of Product – Infrastructure & Operations
Contract-to-Hire | W2 | 3-Month Initial Contract | $200K-$230K Permanent Salary (REMOTE)
We are seeking a Director of Product – Infrastructure & Operations to establish and lead a Product Management function across a broad Infrastructure & Operations organization.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced Product leader who can bring structure, methodology, and strategic direction while remaining close enough to delivery to drive meaningful transformation.
The initial engagement will be W2 contract for 3 months, with the intention to convert to a permanent position at a salary of $200,000-$230,000.
The Role
The Director will define the product vision, strategy, operating model, and product management standards across Infrastructure & Operations.
The function spans:
- Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Mainframe, Data Centres, Networking
- Employee Experience: End-user devices, productivity, ServiceNow, Service Desk, and support engineering
- Engineering & Operations: DevOps, CI/CD, Incident Management, Release/CAB, and Managed File Transfer (MFT)
You will lead 7 direct reports within a currently flat structure, bringing together Product Managers and Product Owners around a consistent product strategy and operating model.
Key Priorities
This role will play a central part in several major transformation initiatives, including:
- Data Centre transformation: Supporting the exit from physical data centres by 2028 while retaining mainframe capabilities and removing open systems
- MSP transformation: Reimagining the managed service provider contract, relationship, and operating model
- Cloud transformation: Developing and embedding a mature Cloud operating model alongside a robust FinOps capability
- Employee Experience: Continuing the transformation of the Employee Experience function and aligning services more closely to internal customer needs
- Product maturity: Establishing consistent Product Management practices, frameworks, standards, and ways of working across Infrastructure & Operations
The organization has some product foundations already in place, with the successful candidate working closely with the wider Enterprise Product organization to mature and scale these capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the Product Management function across Infrastructure & Operations
- Define and communicate a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Establish consistent product frameworks, methodologies, and operating standards
- Create clear expectations around product maturity and define what “good” looks like
- Align Product Managers and Product Owners around a unified direction
- Own and improve product backlogs, epics, features, and user stories
- Translate infrastructure, engineering, and end-user needs into clearly defined products and services
- Balance long-term strategic planning with hands-on delivery oversight
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 7 direct reports
- Partner with senior stakeholders, Enterprise Product, engineering, application teams, and end users
- Drive product-led transformation across a complex hybrid technology environment
- Challenge existing approaches and introduce more effective ways of working
Experience Required
Product Leadership
- Proven experience building, scaling, or transforming Product Management functions
- Strong track record implementing Product Management frameworks, methodologies, and operating models
- Experience defining product standards, maturity models, and best practices
- Strong understanding of product backlogs, epics, features, user stories, roadmaps, and prioritization
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels
Technical & Infrastructure Background
Candidates are likely to have a background in Infrastructure, Engineering, Technology, or a closely related discipline, with strong understanding of:
- AWS / Cloud infrastructure
- Mainframe environments
- Data Centres
- Networking
- End-user computing and device services
- DevOps and CI/CD
- IT Service Management / ServiceNow
- Infrastructure operations and managed service environments
You should be comfortable working with technical teams while translating complex technology requirements into products and services that deliver value to internal customers.

- Experience operating within complex, hybrid delivery environments
- Ability to move between strategic leadership and tactical execution
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
