FIG Investment Banking Associate, Banks and Specialty Finance, New York
A leading bank-owned investment bank is growing its Financial Institutions Group in New York and is hiring Associates to cover banks and specialty finance.
The FIG team is small and led by senior bankers with deep advisory backgrounds, so Associates work directly with MDs and clients rather than sitting at the bottom of a large pyramid. The platform has a major balance sheet behind it, which gives the team real weight with bank and specialty finance clients.
What you’ll do
- Execute M&A and capital raising transactions for banks, specialty finance companies and fintech lenders
- Build and own financial models, valuation work and client materials
- Manage day to day deal execution and work directly with clients, counsel and working groups
- Help develop and mentor Analysts
What they’re looking for
- Direct M&A investment banking experience is essential, ideally within a FIG team covering banks, specialty finance or fintech
- 3 to 6 years of investment banking experience
- Coverage of depositories, specialty finance, consumer or commercial finance, or fintech
- Strong technical skills and a track record of live deal execution
- Someone who wants more responsibility and client exposure earlier in their career
