Financial Accountant – Newly or Fully Qualified

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of group, statutory, and regulatory reporting requirements. Working closely with the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will play a key role in the quarterly financial and regulatory reporting cycle and will coordinate reporting activities in accordance with IFRS. The position requires close collaboration with colleagues across the Finance function, other departments, and senior management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation and review of quarterly financial statements and management reporting.
  • Coordinate the submission of quarterly regulatory returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements under IFRS.
  • Manage liquidity and cash management processes, including banking administration activities.
  • Support the preparation of tax filings.
  • Review and enhance processes and procedures within the scope of the role where appropriate.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at improving departmental and organisational efficiency.
  • Undertake additional ad hoc duties and administrative tasks in line with Finance team priorities and business needs.

Experience

  • Qualified Accountant.
  • Experience within a professional services firm or a comparable financial reporting and regulatory environment.
  • Previous insurance industry experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience using SAP reporting tools would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong report-writing capabilities.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and innovative in resolving issues.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
