Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect
Location: Remote (East Coast Hours)
Contract length: Initial 6-12 Months with Extension

The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established organization in the financial services sector, is looking for a senior IAM Architect on a contract basis. You’ll set the technical direction for their identity and access landscape across multiple domains, from early planning through to delivery. You’ll be the go-to expert when projects hit blockers or when complex issues need a final technical call.
What You’ll Be doing
- Designing, integrating, and shaping the strategy for IAM platforms that span several business and technology domains
- Acting as the top point of technical escalation for project roadblocks and live operational issues
- Setting architecture standards and best-practice guidelines, including solutions that bring together a mix of platforms, operating systems, and applications
- Working with the IAM, infrastructure, and cybersecurity risk and engineering teams, keeping them up to date on industry developments and advising on the direction of the IAM program
- Guiding business stakeholders and project teams with clear technical recommendations
- Overseeing and directing external vendors and partners
- Leading the introduction of new technologies, from requirements gathering through design and rollout
- Helping define how IAM platform performance and reliability are measured and reported
Experience
- 9+ years in architecture roles, ideally across multiple or highly complex domains, plus a degree in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Hands-on depth across the main IAM disciplines:
- Authentication and authorization: LDAP, Active Directory
- Identity management: NetIQ / OpenText IDM is a plus
- Privileged access management: CyberArk is a plus
- Access recertification and governance: OpenText IGA is a plus
- Comfortable working in Agile environments and tracking work in JIRA, and able to manage projects across different methodologies and business areas

- Confident communicator who can run cross-functional meetings, present clearly, and win stakeholder buy-in
- Calm under pressure, able to resolve conflict and keep things moving through setbacks
- Inclusive and diplomatic, with the ability to see an issue from several angles and work well with a wide range of people
