In-House Counsel – Life Insurance

Location: Hartford, CT

An established financial services organization is seeking an In-House Counsel to support its legal team across insurance claims, litigation, product and regulatory matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with life insurance industry experience to join a growing business, work closely with cross-functional teams, and develop their in-house legal career.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support insurance claims disputes, litigation, and pre-litigation matters.
• Coordinate outside counsel and assist with litigation strategy.
• Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, discovery, and regulatory responses.
• Advise on insurance law, regulatory developments, fraud, and policyholder disputes.
• Partner with compliance, product, and business teams to mitigate legal risk.

Requirements

• JD
• 3 years of practical life insurance industry experience, in-house or private practice.
