Key responsibilities
- Develop an advanced understanding of the investment sub-ledger system (PAM) and its role within the investment accounting environment.
- Build knowledge of data flows between the investment management platform, PAM, and the Data Warehouse, and support ad hoc business and reporting requirements.
- Provide day-to-day troubleshooting and support for investment accounting issues within PAM.
- Assist with system configuration, setup, and integration activities for newly established or acquired subsidiaries.
- Process daily and monthly trade files received from external investment managers into PAM.
- Ensure securities and investment positions are appropriately set up, classified, and reported within the investment sub-ledger system.
- Support the ongoing accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of investment accounting processes and systems.
- Assist with special projects, including key finance initiatives, system enhancements, process improvements, and ad-hoc analysis.
- Support the integration of investment portfolios following corporate acquisitions or other business transactions requiring financial consolidation.
- Contribute to the design, development, and testing of new reports and reporting enhancements.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, controls, and system functionality.
Key requirements
- 2-4 years of relevant experience at analyst or associate level.
- Previous experience within investments, investment operations, or investment accounting.
- Experience working with accounting or investment systems would be an advantage.
- Exposure to investment data, trade processing, or financial reporting environments is desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with strong proficiency across other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing responsibilities and meet internal deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables.
- Demonstrated interest in and commitment to continuous process improvement.
- In-depth understanding of financial instruments, investment products, and financial markets.
- Knowledge of investment accounting under IFRS would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to understand complex systems and data flows.
