Lead – Tax Advisory

Senior Insurance Tax Advisory

Understand the tax implications of an reinsurance transactions – and help shape the decision behind it.

I’m partnering with an insurance organization seeking an experienced tax professional for a role spanning insurance tax advisory, transaction support and corporate tax planning.

The opportunity will suit someone who enjoys researching complex issues, evaluating potential structures and translating technical conclusions into practical recommendations for the business.

You’ll contribute to decisions involving reinsurance, acquisitions and broader corporate initiatives, alongside responsibilities supporting tax reporting and compliance.

The scope

  • Transaction advisory: Evaluate the tax implications of insurance and reinsurance transactions, identifying considerations that could influence how they are structured.

  • M&A support: Contribute to tax due diligence, transaction analysis and execution for acquisitions and divestitures.

  • Corporate tax planning: Research and develop recommendations around tax-efficient structures and business initiatives.

  • Technical research: Interpret tax legislation and guidance, document conclusions and explain their implications to stakeholders.

  • Business partnering: Work with finance, legal and other colleagues to bring tax considerations into commercial discussions.

  • Reporting and compliance: Support quarterly tax provisions and annual filings, connecting technical advice with its accounting and reporting consequences.

The experience that matters

We’re particularly interested in professionals with direct life insurance tax experience, gained within an insurer or a public accounting insurance tax practice.

Relevant strengths include:

  • A strong foundation in corporate taxation and the tax rules applicable to life insurers.

  • Experience evaluating the tax treatment of reinsurance arrangements.

  • The ability to research an unfamiliar issue, reach a supported conclusion and communicate a clear recommendation.

  • Exposure to complex transactions, tax planning or strategic projects.

  • Confidence working with stakeholders who need practical advice alongside technical accuracy.

CPA qualification is sought. Experience with acquisitions, divestitures or transaction structuring would be particularly valuable, as would an advanced tax qualification.

Why consider it?

This offers the opportunity to apply your insurance tax knowledge to questions that affect business decisions: how a transaction is structured, what its tax consequences could be and which alternatives deserve consideration.

For someone in public accounting, it offers a move closer to the decisions and implementation behind the advice. For an industry tax professional, it offers scope to deepen involvement in transactions and planning while retaining a connection to reporting and compliance.

If your background includes life insurance taxation and reinsurance, I’d welcome a confidential conversation. Apply with your resume or contact [email protected]
