Commercial P&C Underwriter – Multi line
Location: Orlando, FL
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 + Bonus
Working pattern: Office-based
I’m currently partnered with a highly rated, established insurance carrier that is entering an exciting period of growth within its Commercial P&C offering.
They are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Multi-Line Underwriter who can take ownership of a commercial portfolio, build strong agency relationships and play a key role in the continued development of the platform.
This is an opportunity to join an established business while still having the entrepreneurial feel and influence of helping build something new.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Underwriting new business and renewals across a range of commercial P&C lines.
- Evaluating risks, exposures, loss history and risk controls.
- Determining appropriate terms, conditions, coverage and pricing.
- Managing and developing relationships with assigned retail agencies.
- Growing and managing a profitable book of commercial business.
- Conducting agency visits, meetings and marketing activity.
- Working closely with senior underwriting leadership on the continued development of the Commercial P&C offering.
- Contributing technical underwriting expertise as new products and lines are introduced.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years’ commercial multi-line underwriting experience.
- Strong knowledge across multiple commercial P&C lines.
- Experience with Commercial Property, General Liability, Auto and/or other commercial lines.
- Experience underwriting both new business and renewals.
- A strong understanding of underwriting profitability and risk selection.
- Existing relationships with commercial insurance agencies.
- Strong communication, relationship management and business development skills.
- Experience managing an assigned territory or book of business.
- Florida commercial underwriting experience preferred.
- CPCU, CIC or another relevant industry designation is advantageous.
