Oracle Data Engineer

Context

A major Belgian insurance group is expanding its Enterprise Data Warehouse team as part of a broader digitalisation initiative. Three Data Consultants are required to join an existing programme – two on the same project stream, one in a parallel workstream. This is a purely technical engagement with no functional or managerial responsibilities.

Scope

You will work hands-on within the data warehouse environment: designing and building data models, developing and maintaining ETL flows, loading operational data into structured schemas, and building datamarts from source systems. The environment is Oracle-based, using established data modelling methodologies across both Kimball (star schema) and Data Vault paradigms.

Requirements

Must have:

  • Hands-on experience designing and developing data warehouse solutions (not architecture-only or functional analysis)
  • Strong Oracle SQL skills – writing, optimising, and debugging queries and stored procedures in a production Oracle environment
  • Experience with Kimball methodology: star schemas, fact tables, dimension tables, slowly changing dimensions
  • Experience with or solid understanding of Data Vault modelling (hubs, satellites, links)
  • Proven data modelling skills – conceptual, logical, and physical models
  • Fluent French (working language on-site)
  • Available to start 24 August 2026
  • Willing to be on-site in Wallonia 2 days per week

Strong plus:

  • Experience with Wherescape (Red / 3D) for DWH automation
  • Prior work in insurance or financial services data environments
  • Experience working with Oracle on Exadata
  • Familiarity with ETL tooling in Oracle-centric environments (ODI, SQL Developer, PL/SQL-based flows)
