Product Owner – Identity & Login (Remote Contract to Hire)

Product Owner – Identity & Login (Remote Contract to Hire)

We’re partnering with a leading Life Insurance organization that’s looking for an experienced Product Owner to help shape and evolve its customer registration and login experience.

This isn’t simply a backlog management role. We’re looking for someone who can understand complex customer and business problems, turn them into clear product requirements, and make informed decisions around priorities, risk, dependencies, and value.

You’ll own the product backlog and work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Design, and Business stakeholders to deliver secure, intuitive digital experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning and prioritizing the product backlog based on customer and business value.
  • Translating complex requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Using customer feedback, data, and journey insights to inform product decisions.
  • Partnering with Engineering and Architecture to deliver identity and platform capabilities.
  • Managing priorities, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Directing a team of engineers to execute against a defined roadmap and workload.
  • Improving registration, authentication, login, and account access experiences.

What we’re looking for:

  • First and foremost, a strong Product Owner or Product Manager with genuine backlog ownership experience – someone who can take a defined scope of work and execute against it effectively.
  • Around 4-6 years of relevant Product experience, ideally within a digital product or platform environment.
  • Comfortable operating semi-independently – able to take direction and drive execution, rather than needing to define your own mandate from scratch.
  • Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) or digital identity experience is a strong plus, not a requirement. Exposure to registration, authentication, MFA, account recovery, SSO, federation, or customer login journeys would be valuable, as would familiarity with SAML, OAuth 2.0, or OpenID Connect.
  • Any experience working closely with data teams or using data to inform product decisions is also a plus.
  • Experience within Life Insurance, Financial Services, Banking, FinTech, or another highly regulated environment is desirable – especially where you’ve had to balance security, privacy, fraud prevention, and customer experience.
  • We’re looking for someone who can bridge the gap between Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Business stakeholders and make clear, evidence-based product decisions.

This is a fully remote contract opportunity with the chance to shape enterprise-level identity capabilities for a leading Life Insurance organization.
